With the warm wind blowing on our faces we are quite fortunate to witness daily Indonesian life. Hindu temples with intricate carvings are interspersed in the villages between shanty-like brick and plaster buildings. Ladies donning a cotton t-shirt and brightly printed sarong carry a tray of palm leaf boxes full of flowers and the occasional cracker as a daily offering to the gods and gently place it on a doorstep. Sadly, the garbage business doesn't seem to exist so instead rubbish is liberally strewn about. A small fire crackles along the roadside and the smell of burning plastic negatively greets our nose. Another small fire burns and just as suddenly the beautiful aroma of barbecue meat passes by. Then we pass a bus or a motorbike spitting out black fumes from the exhaust pipe as I quickly pull up a bandanna over my scrunched face while emaciated stray dogs sleep and trot along the dirt roadside. Shops and storefronts line the streets selling nasi goreng (a popular rice dish), bottled beverages, knicknacks and petrol out of an old Absolut vodka bottle. We stop to fill up since the petrol station was out of gas and the locals immediately engage with us. "Where are you going? Where are you coming from?" They want to know. It is important for them to know. We communicate with hand gestures and broken English before we graciously say terima kasih (thank you). Up and over the hill and occasional pothole or dirt road section we come upon an incredible panoramic vista of rice paddies dotted with workers wearing triangular straw hats. The mountainsides are covered in brilliant green palm trees and the sea shows off blues varied from aquamarine and turquoise to a deeply brilliant purple. The dark brown hard-lined faces of men and women of all ages glance up at us from rock quarries of a grueling day's work. Old ladies in printed dresses walk with a giant u-shape curved knife in one hand and a bundle of sugarcane on the other shoulder. Children dressed in uniform walking home from school wave and give us the wonderful gift of a giant, white tooth smile and a boisterous "allo!" and the occasional high five. We are a bit of a wonder, these white-skinned Europeans passing through their small village - no doubt a story to tell their friends.

The items carried on a motorbike still leaves me in awe. It's quite common to see two adults on a bike with a baby, or sometimes even a baby and a small child - the local family wagon going where is necessary. Ladies riding side-saddle breast feeding a small child. Men carrying a giant stack of cardboard boxes, a stick of bamboo four  meters long (where is the red flag!?), a giant birdcage balanced on the back, half of them not wearing a helmet and every man over the age of 18 with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

As we drove from Banko Banko in Lombok to the ferry to Gili Trawangan Island, we took a much needed break to rest our sore behinds and relish in a pug of water on the roadside. We happened to stop in a Muslim village across from a school classroom. As if the school children took a break to watch us kids covered the windows with waves and smiles to stare at us from across the narrow street. While I searched for a restroom (to no avail), a teacher's aid in the alleyway eyed my husband and gingerly blew kisses at him. We stopped to talk with a few children who were asking the ubiquitous "Where are you going? Where did you come from?" with more smiles and engaged in a broken conversation. It was a delight to experience.

Teach Your Baby Math - 3 Reasons Why To Start With Math Books!

Everything depends on you if you want to teach your baby math. Yes, that is right YOU are the key to all of this. What is it that makes you so instrumental in this teaching process? Continue reading to find out.

Here is a good example, if you are the type of person to always complain about bringing work home and how much of it you have to read forget it! If you try to teach your baby math they are not going to want to learn. On the other hand, if your child sees like loving working at home and figuring out different problems then your child will imitate you. Below, are some tips to help you.

1.  Have an environment surrounded by math books
Make sure you have colorful, visually rich children's books.  There are a lot of books out there and children love books with pictures.

2.  Read Out Loud the math problems
When you are working out math problems with them do it out loud. They will remember it more. All you need is 5 minutes a day to do this. You are going to have such a great close relationship with your son or daughter, because of this type of bonding. A one on one type of teaching also will benefit your child so much, because they will love the attention you are giving them, and they will feel so secure because of it.

This will also build your child's mental stimulation. The best time to do this is right before they go to sleep. He or she will be so eager to learn, and will listen so attentatively because of the attention you are giving them. If your child has a favorite math book that is fine, and you can use the same book because repetition is important.

If when you teach your baby math your child seems impatient and want to skip to their favorite pages that is fine. Don't get discourage, because when this happens it means that your child is going through the creative phase. The important thing is to make this enjoyable that way they will love to learn how to do math.

3.  Consistency Is The Key
You have got to be consistent! If you postpone a lesson then it shows to your child that this is not that important. No matter what happens do not miss a day with these lessons. Also, let your child participate with the math problems. Let them hold the book and turn the pages. Ask them questions, and have them repeat a line because this will help them with patterns.

Do you see why I say you are the key to all of this? Teach your baby math, and apply these 3 tips that we just went over and your baby will learn math in no time. My god, you will be such a proud parent when this happens, and rightly so.

Baby Milk Formula

Is a probiotic formula something you should think about in relieving baby colic? Maybe. Research shows that milk-based formula with supplemental probiotics worked wonderfully for lowering colic outbursts in little ones. But more about that later. First, you may be curious as to exactly what probiotic means. Probiotics…what are they?
The body consists of numerous bacteria along with other microorganisms. As you may know, a number of bacteria can be harmful and trigger disease and infection. However, quite a few bacteria are advantageous and vital to help your body work effectively.

Enfamil LIPIL – The company claims that this formula is the closest thing to a mother's breast milk. It's easy to digest and has been proven in tests to improve the IQ scores and provide similar results to breast feeding.Enfamil LactoFree LIPIL – This milk based formula is lactose free for those babies who have had problems with other milk based products. This formula is also sucrose-free and includes LIPIL, which is a blend of ARA and DHA which are nutrients found in breast milk.

Starting solid foods wills also need to be supplemented with milk or formula (preferably a raw milk formula). You don't want to drastically make the switch to solids, but gradually work your way to only feeding your baby solid foods. It is best to start at feed your baby once a day with foods that are easy to digest for one meal, and have them bottle feed or nurse the rest of the day. Perfect for newborns I splurged on organic Moby, and he knew it was going to use this especially when my son was a newborn. We used this constantly in the home and in public. We had a hot summer, but I felt comfortable with a shirt underneath and not too overheated. The winery newborn is easy to use without retying, making it very convenient for diaper changes. I stopped using this time switched to the "feet out" because I could not bear to wear the tie again and I went crazy to tie each time. I still think this is the best company for newborn children - comfortable and safe. I would recommend.

Perfect for newborns I splurged on organic Moby, and he knew it was going to use this especially when my son was a newborn. We used this constantly in the home and in public. We had a hot summer, but I felt comfortable with a shirt underneath and not too overheated. The winery newborn is easy to use without retying, making it very convenient for diaper changes. I stopped using this time switched to the "feet out" because I could not bear to wear the tie again and I went crazy to tie each time. You can make your own baby pillow cases in just a matter of minutes. What is great about it is that you can personalize and customize the cases for your pillow to your own preferences. Rather than buying pillow cases from the mall, you can save your money and make your own.

You do not have to be an expert to make your own. What you will need is some fabric, thread and needle, measuring tape, good pair of sharp fabric scissors and a velcro that can easily be sewn. First and foremost, you do not have to worry about making a pattern. You don't necessarily need one. What you have to do is to think as to how big your pillow case should be. You might also want to take in consideration as to what shape you want.

Say for example you want a square-shaped pillow case; you need to measure your square shaped pillow. After measuring your pillow, get your fabric and lay it flat. Be sure to fold the fabric in half. Folding the fabric in half will help you get the right sides of the fabric to face each other. Get your marker and tape measure. Mark the square on your fabric according to the dimensions of your pillow. Give an inch or two adjustments on all sides.

Once you've marked your fabric, cut the square shape from your fabric with the use of your sharp pair of fabric scissors. Remember that you should have two similar square shapes of fabric. Get the two fabrics pinned up together and the right sides should face each other and the insides of the fabric should be able to face out. Sew three sides of the fabric. Baby Nursery Design in Twelve Easy Steps

Decorating a baby nursery can be a somewhat daunting prospect, especially if you are a first time Mom. There are so many decisions to make, so little time. You feel a stress-attack coming on. Wait. Stress is not good for baby.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Baby nursery design can be fun, if you take it one step at a time...

Step 1: Baby safety is your first concern. Be sure to take this into account throughout the baby nursery design process. Make sure you've done everything you can to keep your baby safe in the nursery by using this comprehensive protect your baby in the nursery checklist.

Step 2: Decide on a room style. Cute, modern, traditional, ethnic, the choice is yours. This decision will affect your furniture, theme and color scheme choices.
